About
The most common species of cockroach in the U.S. is the American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana). The American Cockroach prefers dark areas, and often enter the home through a drain. Known for their resiliency, cockroaches are a challenge to eradicate but can be controlled by sealing cracks or holes in the home, cleanliness, and professional pest control.
Three signs of an infestation include: First, these pests will deposit small droppings in dimly lit areas, closely resembling mouse droppings. Second, the large insect can be seen darting to dark areas. Third, there may be a “musty” smell produced by the insect’s natural pheromones.
